...that would allow her to visit Italy more often. Gayle 's background had been in both residential and commercial design. She had worked for companies such as Herman Miller, Kimball and Harpers before becoming a partner at a local contract furnishings company. It was her experience in the design field and her love of all things Italian that eventually led to the inspiration to become an importer of some of Italy 's most beautiful decorative lighting, art glass, furniture, fabrics, jewelry and accessories. Gayle has spent the past several years identifying and establishing relationships with some of Italy 's most talented and creative artisans. She now imports many wonderful and unique items from over 50 different artisans and small manufacturers. Simply Italian has become known as one of San Diego's most beautiful showrooms. Since it's beginning in 2002 Simply Italian has shipped products to customers throughout the United States, as well as Mexico, South America and Europe. She has successfully completed hundreds of projects ranging from a single light fixture to exclusive residencies utilizing close to 300 fixtures. She now travels to Italy 2-3 times a year enjoying the many friends she has made there. She has become so connected to Italy that she helps host one of Venice's most fantastic and exclusive Masked Ball's "Il Ballo del Doge " held annually during Carnevale. Simply Italian has now become a "destination location" for thousands of Southern Californians and tourists from all over the world.
